This book contains lectures on the course “Fundamentals of Mechanics of Solid Wednesdays”, which were read by the author for second-year students of the mechanics of the mechanics and mathematics faculty of Moscow State University named after MV Lomonosov. Lectures cover the following sections of the mechanics of solid media: elements of tensor calculus; basic concepts used to describe the movement and deformation of solid media; universal physical laws of conservation and the following differential equations and conditions on the surfaces of a strong rupture; The simplest models of liquids, gases and elastic media.
