Led by love. Memories of Vinoba Bhave. Comp. Kalindi
Vinoba Bhave (1895-1982) was one of the great Indian spiritual leaders and social reformers, whose work and personal example inspired all Indians, from the Prime Minister to the poor man. Vinoba took an active part in non -violent resistance to British rule, the ideological leader of which was Mahatma Gandhi. Later, when independence was obtained, Vinoba began his unusual movement of Bhudan (giving earth). For 20 years, Vinoba proceeded the whole of India along and across, convincing the landowners to give part of their lands to the poor neighbors, which eventually amounted to 4 million acres of land. This is an unprecedented case in world history.
Vinoba’s public work was based on the constant study of the spiritual traditions of India and other countries. He spent the rest of his life in solitude and spiritual practice and achieved nirvikalp-samadhi.
These memories reflect both the external and internal life of this great man. The book is invariably reprinted in India and translated into many languages of the world. For all those who are interested in India and its spiritual culture.
