The monograph presents copyright materials of perennial studies of the phenomenon of legal realism. The main attention is drawn to the American, Scandinavian, Russian directions of the realistic approach to law, which actualized the importance of the actual experience and behavior of actors of law, becoming a response of legal science to excess formalism and abstract of law in the USA, Sweden, and the beginning of the middle of the 20th century. The foundations of Russian legal realism have been investigated in detail and its development was analyzed in the XXI century. Other options for legal realism have been noted, as well as at present attempts to reconstruct and rethink the history of a realistic approach in jurisprudence. The book seems to be the first comprehensive work in Russian science about legal realism with a review of classical and modern options for a realistic approach to law, consideration of the ideas of leading representatives of legal realism, glossary.
