Nikolai Gavrilovich Chernyshevsky (1828–1889)-Russian philosopher-materialist of the 19th century, revolutionary democrat, theorist of critical utopian socialism, scientist, encyclopedist, literary critic, publicist and writer.

“Lessing”-“Lessing”- Unique research work dedicated to the German poet and playwright of the XVIII century Gotthold Lessing. The book presents the opinion of Chernyshevsky about the historical significance of Lessing works in world literature, and the issues of the history and culture of Germany of the 18th century, which, according to the author, had a lot in common with Russia.
