Letters to loved ones. Kramskoy I.

Without Ivan Nikolaevich Kramsky (1837-1887), masters of genre, historical and portrait painting, it is impossible to imagine the artistic culture of the second half of the 19th century. Being a successful student of the Academy of Arts, in 1863 he headed the so-called “riot 14”, in which students who later founded a partnership of mobile art exhibitions took part. Kramskoy, rightfully, became the ideological leader of the unification of the Wanderers.

This book includes I. N. Kramsky’s letters to the most close to him - wife Sofya Nikolaevna and friend Mikhail Borisovich Tulinov. Most of them relate to the period when Kramskoy worked on the painting of the dome of the Cathedral of Christ the Savior in Moscow.
