Vincent Van Gogh (1853-1890)-Dutch Premenonist artist, who created more than 2100 works, of which about 860 are written in oil. During life, Van Gog's work was not in demand and practically circumvented the attention of critics, but after his death was universal recognition and high appreciation. At the same time, little is known about the artist’s life, and disputes about the causes and circumstances of his early and tragic care are still not subside. The only reliable and detailed source of information about Van Gogh can be his letters, which for fifteen years have almost daily emerged from his pen and were mainly addressed to the brother of Theo. This endless correspondence is more reminiscent of a diary that plunges into the world of a brilliant master, allowing you to see the circumstances of his life and relations with people, feel the emotional state in different periods and understand what a huge work and mental stress stood behind each work of the artist. This publication includes the most important and bright fragments of Van Gogh’s letters, sketches, which he often accompanied for clarity, as well as color reproductions of his paintings.
