Liberating meditation. Nidal O., Nidal Kh.
The book is composed of the articles and lectures of Lama Ole Nidal and his wife Hannah, published over the past 25 years in various Buddhist publications. Articles are organized in three sections - in accordance with the “three columns”, on which Buddhist practice is traditionally based: “look”, “meditation” and “action”. The texts of the “View” section are devoted to the philosophical foundations of Buddhism, the second represents the foundation of Buddhist meditation and describes meditation techniques, in the third authors give advice on how to preserve and use the states that are achieved through meditation.
Ole and Hannah, the Danes by origin, in 1969 became the first Western students of his Holiness of the sixteenth Karmapa, the head of the Tibetan Buddhist tradition of Karma Kagyu, the famous Lama in the Black Crown. They spent several years in the Himalayas, studying with Karmapa and other tall lamas, and then, in 1972, his Holiness asked them to return to the West to transfer the teachings of the Buddha to everyone who would seem interesting. So Buddhism Karma Kagy first came to Europe, and then to other continents.
