The German writer Wilhelm Gauf (1802-1827) is deservedly considered one of the best storytellers in the world. In childhood, the boy’s favorite place was a library in which young Wilhelm spent many hours, reading books with rapture. Having matured, Gauf got a tutorial on the family of a military minister, Baron of Ernst Yugen von Herel. It was for his children that Gauf wrote his first tales, among which there was a fairy tale about little flour. This instructive story about the adventures of the dwarf, who became the owner of magic shoes, came across the heart to many readers and gained popularity not only in the writer’s homeland, but also abroad.
