Schigumen Rafail (Shishkov) was one of the first tonsures and inhabitants of the returned church in 1983 Danilov Monastery. The Moscow Archpriest, the parish priest and personal secretary of Metropolitan Pitirim (Nechaev), in the fifty -third year of his life, he came to the monastery to become a simple monk and help revive the abode. “I would like to stay here forever and die” - the words that he said then and then spent in thirty -five years of monastic works.
