Archimandrite Emilian (Vafidis, 1934-2019) is one of the most amazing ascetics of our time. Always joyful, friendly and noble, the elder, his strength and desires were completely directed to monastic life, its revival and renewal. Nights spending in vigil and constant prayer, he carefully investigated the patristic works and texts about the organization and life of Orthodox monasticism. Father Emilian gave all the forces of his soul to clergy.
