Lonely sail white. Kataev V.
Valentin Petrovich Kataev - one of the classics of Russian literature of the twentieth century. A prose writer, playwright, military correspondent, first editor -in -chief of Yunost magazine, he left a significant mark in domestic culture. The most famous work of Kataev, which was part of the school curriculum - the story “Lonely Sailing” (1936) - tells about the growing up of the Odessa boys of Petit and Gavrik, who had a chance to meet with the sailor with the revolutionary battleship “Potemkin” and participating in the 1905 revolution. The story is largely autobiographical: it is felt, for example, in the unusually living paintings of the native Kataev Odessa. The continuation of the famous story was three more works, united in the tetralology of the “Waves of the Black Sea”: Petya and Gavrik are again found - first during the civil war, and then during the Great Patriotic War, when they become underground in the occupied Odessa.
