Long shadows. Boldacci D.
When the de -deer Amosa is called to the southern Florida to investigate the double murder, the matter seems simple. The federal judge and her bodyguard were found dead in her house. Before his death, they put a bandage with rude slots for the eyes - a clear hint that over the years spent in the courtroom, she judged addictedly. The revenge of one of the unfairly convicted?
But almost immediately Deer understands: the matter is much more complicated than it seems. Why was the judge and her bodyguard killed in completely different ways and in different parts of the house? Why was the security officer a private company, not a federal marshal? Why did the killer stuffed the money bills of a distant European country in his throat?
Meanwhile, the Black Strip began at the deer itself. The authorities, dissatisfied with the independent nature of Amos, appointed him a new partner. And yet, the recent tragedy returned Deer’s memory to the past, which he painfully wants to forget - and cannot. His psyche begins to fail. And the deer does not have the right to make a mistake: he took up too dangerous business...
