In the 70s of the twentieth century, the classics of Russian literature, the Brothers Weiners, the authors of the famous novel “The meeting place cannot be changed”, embarked on a dangerous path: wanting to serve the truth in a country with a totalitarian regime, they created the anti-Soviet dilius “Loop and stone in green grass ”and“ Gospel of the executioner ”. Two most forbidden topics were affected in the books: the “bodies” and “Jewish question” remaining without retribution.

The heroes of the novel “Loop and Stone in the Green Grass” - Sulamif and Alyosha, her lover, the son of one of the leaders of the MGB. The fates of their families are intertwined in the most amazing way. In the novel there is a tragic love story, and an exciting investigation with pursuit and discoveries. Reality, albeit in the relatively “vegetarian” time, destroys any living life, all who, somehow does not fit into the wretched Soviet standards and wants the impermissible - freedom.

In the center of the novel “The Gospel of the Executioner” - Pavel Snatkin, the charismatic antihero, who deftly weaves murderous conspiracies, but he himself is captured by a passionate craving for a woman, whose life and family he mercilessly destroyed. In the 1970s, a retired, but still not old colonel of the MGB Ubatkin is still on a horse.

“I want to win in life,” he says. The memory at times throws him from a prosperous present to the bloody past. We see his life from the inside, his eyes. And here's the “good news” from the executioner: the element of people who without hesitation break other people's fate are fear. They generate it, eat it and understand only this language. The words of mercy and love are unknown to them, inaccessible. Their life is also crippled. But this does not make them less dangerous.
