John Ronald Ruel Tolkien (01/03/1892 - 09/09/1973) - writer, poet, philologist, professor of Oxford University, the founder of modern fantasy.

In 1937, “Hobbit” was written, and in the middle The 1950s saw the light of the three books “The Lord of the Rings”, telling about the Middle-earth-a world inhabited by representatives of magic races with complex culture, history and mythology. In the following years, these novels were translated into all world languages, adapted for cinema, animation, audiopius , Theater, computer games, comics and gave rise to a lot of imitation and parodies.

Alana Lee (b. 08/20/1947)-illustrator of dozens of books in the fantasy genre. His covers and illustrations for the works of John R.R. gained the greatest fame Tolkien: “Hobbit”, “Lord of the Rings”, “Children of Khurin”. Mervin Piku, the cycle of medieval Welsh novels “Mabinogion” and much more, also illustrated the Gormengast trilogy and much more.
