The real edition included the early novels by Jane Austin, who is still rightfully considered the first lady of English literature: “Love and Friendship”, “Leslie Castle”, “Lady Susan”. The external chamber of these funny, sparkling stories, “literary pranks”, turn out as a result of an witty description of morals, caustic satire: Austin's texts are parodies, and rather tough, on melodramatic opuses of the 18th century.

For all the popularity of the writer (in colleges and universities of Great Britain, her works are required for studying) novels that were included in the collection, in Russian were first published a few years ago. All the more joyful, a new meeting with a young, elegant, cheerful talent of Austin. We hope that the possibility of such a meeting will be presented to the Russian reader more than once.
