Love and pigeons. Gurkin V.P.
Vladimir Pavlovich Gurkin (1951–2010) is a famous playwright and screenwriter, author of the play “Love and Pigeons”, on the basis of which one of the most famous and favorite films in Russia was shot. Vladimir Gurkin was born in the Perm Territory in the family of a tractor driver. In 1971 he graduated from the acting department of the Irkutsk Theater School, in 1983 he moved to Moscow, where he worked at the Contemporary Theater and at the Moscow Art Theater named after Chekhov. His first play “Andryusha” (later the name “I light a candle...”) was a great success, but was banned by the authorities in 1980. In total, Vladimir Gurkin wrote eight plays that are still placed in theaters throughout Russia.
“Gurkin left Shukshin in many ways,” actor Sergei Yursky wrote about him. - This is our life, our people, we will recognize them, it's us! ” The real collection included all eight plays by Vladimir Gurkin: “Love and pigeons”, “Crying in the handful”, “Baikal quadrille”, “Golden man” and others.
