Lullaby Aushwitz. We cease to exist when there is no one left who loves us. Mario E.
Helen Hannemannie and her family move to Berlin in search of a better life. In the big city you can dissolve, and this is the best way to survive in New Germany is to turn into invisible. But Helen’s worst fears come true when her husband is first fired from the Berlin Conservatory, and then, by order of the SS, they are arrested with their children. Because they all have gypsy roots.
Although Helen is a German and this arrest does not apply to her, she refuses to throw her family. Despite the physical and emotional cruelty of the conditions of detention in Auschwitz, Helen until the last protects children in her care. It retains human dignity even when it seems that all hope is lost.
The book has two endings: artistic and real, each reader decides how the history of Helen and her family will end.
