Lunar Valley. London J.
Jack London is one of the most popular American writers whose works, full of exciting adventures and harsh romance, read all over the world. The novel “The Moon Valley” (1913) is somewhat unusual: it is written in the genre of utopia and is dedicated to the author to his wife. This is the anthem of love and human spirit.
The main characters of the novel are young spouses Bill and Saxon Roberts. They love each other, but they have to overcome many difficult trials - the need, hunger, death of the child - before finally gaining family happiness. They spend about two years in wanderings to find their “promised land” - the place where they will build their house and begin a new life. The dreams of Bill and Saxson about a certain ideal place seem to many to be unrealistic, because you can find it only on the moon.
But one day dreams come true: the spouses still find what they are looking for, and by amazing coincidence, the area is called the moon valley...
