John Climacus (end of the VI - beginning of the 7th century) - the abbot of the Sinai Monastery, philosopher, Christian theologian, considered by the Orthodox Church to the Physics of the Saints.

“Laman” is the main work of John Climacus, created at the end of the VI century at the request of the abbess of the Raif Monastery on Mount Sinai.

The image of a ladder is borrowed from the Bible, which describes the vision of the stairs from the sleep of Jacob, through which the angels rose.
