Maamar (dosl. “Speech”, “statement”) is a traditional form of transmission of the Hasidic teachings from the Lyubavich Rebbe. As a rule, the Rebbe pronounced Maamara orally (hence the name - Maamar) during the Hasid meetings, usually on Saturdays, holidays and special dates.
Later Maamars were produced in writing.
