Madame Badubeda. Sophie Dahl, illustrator Lauren O’Hara
What do real adventurers love? Of course, walk barefoot, burst Swiss cheese and Yorkshire puddings and... monitor dangerous criminals! The girl Meibel simply loves adventure. She lives in the Mermaid Hotel, which her father leads. And here adventures are waiting at every step!
Once a very strange guest calls into the hotel. An old-fraudstary old woman, with huge chests, two dogs, cats and one turtle. Meibel immediately realizes that Madame Badubeda (as the girl calls her) jokes are bad. Where is she from? What if she is a criminal and is on the run? After all, only the supervpers never call their name, wear two socks on each leg and have a turtle (and this is the most suspicious creature in the world). Then Meibel is taken to work and takes the mysterious guest to clean water!
