She was in Germany while coming to Hitler’s power, and after that she became a witness to the liberation struggle in India and the establishment of independence there. The book leads the reader from Petrograd and Moscow to the Russian Putting Province, from there to Berlin and other European capitals of the 1920-1930s, and then to the bombs-in the wake of a brave woman who did not submit to fate and became a recognized artist and mentor of the new generation of Indian painters. The book uses letters, diary entries and rare archival documents.
