We present to your attention the book “Malachite Casket” by Pavel Petrovich Bazhov
Pavel Petrovich Bazhov (1879–1950) - Russian writer, author of the famous book of the Ural tales “Malachite Casket”, who glorified legends and traditions of his native land on the whole world. Bazhov was born in the family of a mining master in a small Ural town. His childhood passed among the miners and prospectors who searched gold in the Ural mountains who mined malachite and mica. After the spiritual seminary, Bazhov taught Russian, he was engaged in journalism, traveled a lot in the Urals, and collected folklore. The first edition of the "Malachite box" took place in 1939. Bazhov was 60 years old by this time. Work on the book did not end there. Until the end of the days, the writer replenished his magic box with new stories, combining folk poetry and wisdom with the subtle skill of a great artist.
The publication included a complete collection of the Ural tales of P. Bazhov: “Stone Flower”, “Malachite box”, “Malachite box”, “The Copper Mountain Mistress”, “Silver Hoof” and others, as well as the autobiographical novels “Green Mare”, “Far - Close” and a collection of “Ural ones”, which was based on the memories of the Ural life and children's years of the writer.
