Mammary cancer. Guide for doctors. Gantsev Sh.
The progress observed in recent years in the treatment of breast cancer is associated with a deepening understanding of the complex biology of this disease. Molecular genetic testing made it possible to characterize several pathogenetic subtypes of cancer, which differ in prognosis and response to various types of systemic treatment (chemotherapy, endocrinotherapy and the so-called targeted therapy). Local (surgical and radial) treatment was also significantly improved: organ -preserving operations began to prevail and the quality of surgical effects increased.
The leadership presents modern information about epidemiology, etiology, pathogenesis, clinical picture, diagnosis, treatment and prevention of cancer.
The publication is intended for overcologists, radiologists, obstetrician-gynecologists, pathomorphologists, district therapists and general practitioners, listeners of academies and departments of postgraduate education, as well as students of medical universities.
