Matveevs and ventiles. Family archives and memories

The book contains correspondence and memoirs of representatives of a large family, bearing the surname of Matveev and Ventrices, including teachers and scientists, writers and theater figures, as well as ordinary Muscovites. How they lived and survived, how they loved and grieved, how they endured losses and rejoiced, met and parted. The events of all -Russian and even world scale - the First World War, revolutionary upheavals, the years of the NEP, the Great Patriotic War - pass before the reader through the perceptions of their contemporaries and direct participants. This is the history of the country, told by eyewitnesses of those events.
