The monograph presents the results of a study by the audience of modern Russian media. The audience is considered as a subject of mass-communicative activity, determined by the motives and needs of people. Features of competition are discussed for the attention of the audience between the two leaders for the period of the media analysis - the Internet and television. The assessment of prospects is based on the study of media consumption in age cohorts. The fragmentation of the audience is discussed in the context of the growth of communication choice, its social consequences are justified. The features of the media platform management and associated audit practices are considered.
The phenomenon of reading was analyzed - the sphere of cultural activity, on which digitalization and the Internet influenced the most directly. Certain chapters contain the results of research: trust in Russian media in the context of dominant ideas about the socio-political system and key social institutions; ideas about the online adoption that have developed in the conditions of the transformation of media media; features of media consumption in COVID-19 conditions. The empirical basis of the work is the study of the audience of Russian media 2010-2021.
