The book “Memorial Jaeard” opens the Saedeur subsection, not only because this building is the highest achievement of the art of architecture, the Ygender memorial is the foundation of life, the foundation of the new society.

This memorial complex built on the hill Tsitermanakabababerd in Yerevan is a monument to the victims of the Armenian genocide in the Ottoman Empire of 1915. It can rightfully be considered one of the key structures of Armenian modernism, which had the most important influence on the development of modern national architecture of Armenia.

its appearance in 1965 preceded the architectural competition. This small book tells about the authors of competitive projects, the history of the competition, and its influence on the future fate of modern Armenian architecture. Very soon, after the construction of the memorial, everything that belonged to the competition was forgotten or lost, for example, in the Armenian professional press about it, as well as about the submitted projects, there are almost no mention.

after half a century, a year, a year, a year centuries of genocide, architect Karen Balill, the author and editor of the text of the monograph, managed to find some important facts of competitive events, which today are an important addition to the history of Armenian architecture of the twentieth century. Many architectural projects and sketches presented in the book are published for the first time.
