Memories of the Wanderers. Mintchenkov Ya.
Yakov Danilovich Mingchenkov (1871-1938)-painter, landscape painter, in the 1890s became the authorized partnership of mobile art exhibitions. Its best qualities are manifested here: love of art, taste, observation, sensitivity, devotion to the beloved business, so necessary for organizing and leadership exhibitions, communicating with the public, mediation between artists and buyers of paintings. In the early 1930s, at the request of V. A. Gilyarovsky, he writes memories first about I. E. Repin, and then about other mobility that he met at exhibitions, in workshops, in the home circle. Mintchenkov’s observation was also reflected in the stories of artists (G. G. Myasoedovo, V. E. Makovsky, A. N. Shilder, I. E. Repin, A. I. Kuindzhi, V. D. Polenov, I. I. Levitan , V.I. Surikov and others), written talented, vividly and became an interesting evidence of Russian artistic life of the late XIX - early XX centuries.
