Memories. Rylov A.
Arkady Aleksandrovich Rylov (1870-1939) is one of the largest masters of painting of the first half of the 20th century, who continued in his work the tradition of the Russian landscape school, in particular A. Kuindzhi, one of the most gifted students of which he was. The work of A. Rylov refuted the concept of landscape as a secondary genre, less capacious than a portrait. He was able to especially poetic look at the most ordinary pictures of nature, by which, without noticing, hundreds of other people passed. The impressions of what they saw were overwhelmed by the masters, and from under his hands delightful paintings were born about his native nature, about his native land.
a. Rylov is not just a landscape painter, he is a deep sincere poet. Such is his prose - quiet, clear, spiritual. In the "memoirs" of the artist you can find pictures of the life of the old Vyatka, the Russian province, Moscow and St. Petersburg. In addition, the book is full of bright and witty literary portraits of his contemporaries - primarily people of art. The image of Arkhip Kuindzhi, the chief teacher and older friend Rylov was especially colorful. Many pages of memoirs are devoted to observations of nature and animals, which the painter loved tenderly.
The publication also included reproductions of the author’s artwork.
