In the stream of books and articles dedicated to the "Arab Spring", which turned into "Arab autumn", work on Syria is occupied by a special place. But among them there are no equal to this monograph. Its authors not only covered the large building of original sources and literature, but also conducted repeated field research in Syria. All this made it possible to evaluate the transformation of the opposition forces in which the Islamists occupied the leading position, their relationship with each other, with external sponsors and the Syrian government.
