The author of the adventurous-allegorical novel “Metamorphosis, or the Golden Donkey” Apuley was known to contemporaries as a philosopher, priest, speaker and lawyer. However, today the whole world knows him as the creator of one of the most brilliant books of all time, along with Don Quixote, Cervantes, Gargantua and Pantagruel Rabelais and other masterpieces with gold letters inscribed in the history of world literature and became a pass to eternity for Apuley. The plots from the Golden Doner (such as, for example, the history of Amur and Psyche) used in their works outstanding masters of the artistic word and fine art. Apuleya appreciated and admired Shakespeare, Voltaire, Pushkin and many others.
