Mikhail Konstantinovich Klodt (Baron Claudt von Jurgensburg) is an outstanding Russian landscape painter. He possessed great skill that allowed him to create magnificent landscapes.

Baron Claudt von Jurgensburg was a patriot of Russian nature. Having received an excellent art education, he studied the drawing in the mountain cadet corps at I.F. Fragile, and landscape painting -in the Academy of Arts at M.N. and S.N. Sparrow. Having shown great skill in training, M.K. Klodt after a year of stay on a pensioner trip abroad asks for permission to return to his homeland.

The talent of M. Klodt, honed with academic education, allows him to create wonderful, purely Russian landscapes: a view in the Oryol province (1864), Volga at the Lada ( 1879), Pakhars in Ukraine (1879).
