In the Parisian Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, Wilhelm Getz, the regent of the boys choir and the organist were killed. Retired Police officer Casdan, without waiting for the official, begins his own investigation of the murder. In the course of the case, a strange circumstance is clarified: in those choirs that the Getz led in past years, several young choristers disappeared. And one more circumstance, no less strange, pops up: all these events are somehow connected with the old chorele “Miserer”...
