Moby Dick, or White Whale. Melville G.
German Melville (1819-1891)-an American writer and sailor, in whose work and fate the experience of a traveler and the mythopoetic worldview of the artist surprisingly organically melted. The awareness of the talent of Melville did not immediately come, and only a quarter of a century after the death of the writer, the outlines of the huge contribution that he made to the treasury of world literature became visible. The central work of Melville - the grandiose “mobile Dick” - became one peaks of American literature, finally depriving America of the status of a “cultural desert”. In addition to “Moby Dika”, a number of the most significant stories and stories were included in the present publication, giving an idea of the versatility of the talent of Herman Melville and his writer's skill.
