The heroes of the young Norwegian writer Helga Flateland are experiencing all the stages of disappointment, faced with an unexpected decision of their elderly parents. In an attempt to understand the present, they have to plunge in the truth of the past, to look at themselves and their neighbors. None of them will be able to get out of the web of doubts without loss.
