Modern Polish poets
The current appearance of Polish poetry was largely determined by the social changes that occurred in Poland after 1989, when the “solidarity” won in the first free elections and in the country, in fact, a bloodless revolution took place with the communist regime. The revolution occurred then in Polish poetry. People who announced a radical break with the past came to the literature. As the outstanding expert on Polish and Russian literature, Adam Pomera, “Russian reader, accustomed to his liberal or dissident sixties, will surprise in these verses the lack of rhetoric of the right -hand business, the individuality of experience and skeptical thought and, finally, not drowning in the choir of votes, the tone of personal dignity”.
The book unites poets of different generations?, whose verses are translated by the best translators of Polskoi? Poetry.
