Money. Marx K., Aristotle, Spinoza B.
Money has long served as the subject of disputes and thoughts, caused wars and conflicts, and nevertheless, people always strove for the prosperity and accumulation of material wealth. Being part of everyday life, the money was included in the list of “eternal” topics and among philosophers. Thinkers of antiquity as Plato and Aristotle asked the question of what the “real” wealth is.
In the Enlightenment, the philosopher Adam Smith and David Ricardo considered the concept of money comprehensively, connecting it with difficulty and its result. Sociologist Karl Marx in his works showed how money turns into capital, gaining his own will and power over the working class. His follower, Marxist Walter Benjamin, talked about the influence of money on culture and proposed ways to humanize the economy. Modern thinkers of Jacques Derrida, the glory of Zizhek and the Amartia Saint talked about the paradoxical money.
The publication includes fragments of the works of famous ancient, Western European and Russian philosophers.
