Moral letters to Lucilia. Seneca
Seneca-Lucius Annea Seneca Jr. (c. 4 BC-c. 65)-an outstanding Roman philosopher-style, poet, playwright, statesman. In the last years of his life, Seneca paid special attention to issues of moral self -improvement, many of his thoughts are consonant with the Christian attitude - it was not without reason that Seneca was considered “almost a Christian” and attributed to him a correspondence with the apostle Paul. “Moral letters to Lucilia”, addressed to the younger contemporary of Seneca, the prosecutor of Sicily, is the result of the philosophy and life experience of Seneca. This is probably the most readable composition of Seneca from the Middle Ages to the present. Written in simple and wise language, “Letters” today can serve as a guide to a morally correct life.
