Mark Tullius Cicero - an outstanding Roman lawyer and statesman, elected by the consul, was proclaimed by the Senate the father of the Fatherland, and the soldiers of the province entrusted to him - the emperor. However, in the memory of the descendants, he remained primarily as a wonderful speaker and scientist-educator. The book contains the philosophical treatises of Cicero that have not lost relevance: “On old age”, “On friendship” and “On duties”. The author convincingly proves that true philosophy strengthens friendship, promotes moral improvement, and also fills with new meaning the inevitable hardships of life: old age, pain of loss, loss of loved ones and the expectation of his own death.
