The elevation of Moscow in the XIV century is more like a miracle. Having no formal rights to the highest power, the Moscow princes entered the struggle for it and defeated the obviously strong enemy. And this despite the fact that on the side of the Tver princes there were ancient law and strength, but all their advantages melted like smoke during a bloody feud. Novgorod and Pskov, Lithuania and the Golden Horde, whose interests were affected by a new redistribution of power in northeastern Rus', were involved in the grandiose battle between Moscow and Tver. For a long time, the outcome of the confrontation was unclear, but in the end the victory remained with Moscow. In this war, the Tver princes showed themselves to be good military leaders, but the Moscow princes turned out to be unsurpassed politicians and diplomats, which predetermined their success. The Triumph of Moscow had a decisive influence on the future fate of Rus', and in the future, modern Russia.
