The debut collection of stories by Anna Shipilova reflects the reflection of growing up against the backdrop of an ardently changing reality. This is not only an author’s attempt to comprehend the present, but a look into the future, which, it seems, is already on the threshold. Among his heroes are teenagers, young girls and young women who are faced with violence, betrayal, injury, all new and new trials. Their world is unsettled and deprived of support, relatives are untenable, the surrounding reality is destroyed before our eyes - they grow up contrary. Despite the gloomy pictures of the future, which turns out to be overturned into the past, these stories are imbued with the inevitable ironic intonation, which does not allow to lose light in hopeless darkness.
