The “chosen” of the famous Russian writer Dmitry Mikhailovich Balashov (1927-2000) is represented by his best historical works. The story "Mr. Great Novgorod" is the XIII century, Rus' stubbornly rises from the ashes. Alexander Nevsky died, and Novgorod in the most severe Battle of Rakovora 1268 again has to reflect the onslaught of the German Order, who decided to squeeze for the recent defeat on Lake Peipsi. The novel "Martha -Posaditsa" is the history of the annexation in the 15th century of Novgorod to the Moscow Grand Duchy. Marfa Boretskaya, who headed the boyar group, hostile to the unification policy of Ivan III, was characterized by personal courage, but defended the obviously doomed business.
