Clarissa Dalloway, a secular lady of fifty with a little years, is preparing for a reception that organizes at home. In the morning she leaves the house for flowers, she loves them very much, it is necessary to decorate the house with them in the evening. Walking along London, she recalls her youth, first love. In another area of London, Septimus Warren Smith, a veteran of the First World War, suffering from contusion, goes with his wife Lucretia to an appointment with a psychiatrist. Smith's Day is intertwined on the day of Clarissa and her friends, their lives converge together when the party reaches its peak. Having learned about the tragedy with Smith, Clarissa rethinks his life and attitude to death.
