Mikhail Yuryevich Lermontov (1814-1841) - an outstanding Russian poet and a prose writer.
was born in Moscow, but he spent all his childhood in the Tarkhana estate (now Lermontovo), near Penza. Misha’s parents lived little together, his mother died soon, his father went to his estate, leaving the boy in the care of a grandmother, nee Stolypina. Lermontov grew up a painful child, at home school, and to school, a closed boarding house for boys from noble families, entered immediately in the 4th grade. After graduating from it, Misha took four languages, played the guitar, violin, cello and piano, painted well.
there, at school, the first verses and first suffering arose. Soul dramas, unrequited love and cold contempt for society, which the poet himself experienced, became the leitmotif of his work. Already at that time he conceived a “demon”, which is based on the acute consciousness of universal loneliness. Another poem appears - “Mtsyri”, hidden in Lermontov’s youthful note: “Write notes of a young monk: 17 years old. Since childhood, he in the monastery, except for the sacred books, did not read. A passionate soul languishes. Ideals. " He worked on the “demon” for 10 years, but during his lifetime he did not see the publication due to censorship prohibitions.
Lermontov’s talent was quickly matured, the spiritual world grew, which was also facilitated by studies at the University of Moscow at the Word Department, During which Lermontov plunged into urban secular life: salons, balls, masquerades. But having studied for two years, Lermontov suddenly writes a petition for expulsion from among students and enters the school of guards supporters and cavalry cunning people, which was distinguished from literature. From there, he came out the root of the Life Guards.
The reader for the first time opened him as a poet in a poem to Pushkin's death. The event deeply shocked the young hussar, and he "poured out the bitterness of the heart on paper." The leaflets with the verlibr “The Death of the Poet”, which were dispersed in the hands, caused a storm and society; The arrest, court and exile to the Caucasus dangerous in those years followed. This link was not the only one, later Lermontov was a member of the battles of the Caucasian war. But Lermontov died not in the war.
Like Pushkin, Lermontov died on a duel, shot into the chest from a pistol. He was 26 years old.
