The book is devoted to the mythological stories contained in the sacred texts of the Hindu tantra, mainly belonging to the Bengal-Assamian Vamachara. The main characters of these myths are such respectable deities as Shiva, Kali, Tara, Chinnamast, Tripurasundari, Bagala and Matanga. Tantric mythology appears as a bright and holistic phenomenon, which has its own qualities that distinguish it from the mythology of the Vedas, the epic and Puran.
