Thomas Pinchon - along with Salinger, The Great American Recluse, one of the largest writers of world literature XX, and now the 21st century, after the first publications unanimously recognized by the classic of the level of Nabokov, Joyce and Borges. The heroes of Pinchon are traditionally obsessed with the topics of the universal conspiracy and social paranoia, the search for secret springs of history. In the collection of the early prose of the “inimitable narrator of the stories that come from the dark underground of our imagination”, we observe “brilliant talent at the start” (New Republic). Moreover, the book contains perhaps the only expanded direct statement of the famous recluse: “Nobody knew anything about the pinchon as a person - until he was revealed in the preface to the collection of his early stories” (Sunday Times).
