Vasily Aksenov wrote the novel "New Sweet Style" in 1996. The hero of the novel is a gifted theater director, actor and bard Alexander Korbakh forced to emigrate to America. There he becomes a university professor, finds a wealthy relative, falls in love with the archaeologist, works in Hollywood. He strives for Russia, again and again returns to Moscow of the nineties, lives "between the two countries." The brilliant verbal game adorns the speech of the heroes of the novel, and poetic fragments at the end of each chapter raise the narrative to philosophical generalization.

This is a book about Russia and America, about the interweaving of human destinies. About the freedom that Aksenov writes: "... this is a winged creature, this is a new sweet style!" And of course - about love.
