New Testament

The proposed publication of the New Testament reproduces the text of the translation into Russian given in the 19th century in Russia by four spiritual academies (S. Petersburg, Moscow, Kyiv, Kazan) and printed with the blessing of the Holy Synod before the 1917 revolution. After 1917, this translation of the New Testament was published only abroad. In 1956, for the first time after the revolution, the Moscow Patriarchate got the opportunity to reprint a synodal publication in a limited number. The text of this publication, which has already become a rarity, is now reprinted by the publishing house "Life with God" in Brussels. As you know, the whole scripture of the New Testament was written in Greek, with the exception of the Gospel of Matthew, which, according to legend, was written in a Jeanese or in Aramaic. But since this Hebrew text has not been preserved, the Greek text is considered a original for the Gospel of Matthew. Thus, only the Greek text of the New Testament is the original, and numerous publications in different modern languages ​​of the whole world are translations from the Greek original of the New Testament. In Russia, before the appearance of the complete New Testament in Russian in 1823, it, like the whole Bible, was published only in ancient, Church Slavonic. The Church Slavonic translation goes back to the primary teachers of the Slavs of the SV. Cyril and Methodius (9th century).
