Selma Lagerlöf (1858–1940) - Swedish writer and winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature

(1909). One of her most famous books - “Niels Holgersson’s wonderful journey through Sweden” was originally conceived as a textbook on the geography of Sweden. The book was translated into many languages, and in 1940 the Soviet writers Zoya Zadunayskaya and Alexander Lyubarskaya retold this work, calling it "Niels's wonderful journey

with wild geese." This story about a boy who traveled with a flock of geese is built on legends and folk

fairy tales.
