Nightingale and Rose: Tales. Wilde O.
Oscar Fingal O'Flartort Wills Wilde (1854-1900)- English writer and poet, one of the most recognized playwrights of the Victorian era.
Oscar was born in Dublin, the second son in the family of the famous doctor in Ireland- The surgeon, who at leisure wrote books on archeology, was a philanthropist. In the house, progressive writers and doctors were often accepted, creating something like a salon. Already at the age of 9, Oscar, studying at home, knew French and German; Studying at the Royal School of the Porter, he took possession of the Greek. Having graduated from a gold medal, he entered the Trinity College, where he went deeper into the study of ancient culture, and continued his studies in Oxford. Even then, he behaved unusually and dressed strangely, and his name began to grow in stories and legends. Wilde shone with a young man in a London secular society, even made a coup in fashion. The “young Irish wit” struck everyone, appearing in the evenings in a cloak, beret and with Lily or Sunflower in his hand.
He quickly proved himself not only as a poet (in 1881 he came out the first collection of poems) but also as a brilliant wit and a wonderful lecturer; His bright figure and catchy phrases attracted reporters and glorified him in America and France. The novel “Portrait of Dorian Gray”, the plays “Perfect Husband” and “How important to be serious”, “Salome”, the story “Canterville Ghost” and other works, but even earlier, becoming the father of two sons and Vivian, were brought to him. Wilde begins to write unusual fairy tales that came out in two collections - “Happy Prince” and other fairy tales ”(1888) and“ Pomegranate House ”(1891). One of the sons recalled: “He was a real comrade for us and always gave us great pleasure with his frequent appearance in the nursery. He remained in his soul so much that he loved to take part in our games. When he was tired, he knew how to make us calm down, telling fairy tales about good wizards or any stories. Once Siril asked why tears stood in his eyes when he read the “giant-egoist” to us, and he replied that truly beautiful things always cause his tears. ”
